2004
Coming to Lehigh, I intended to be a Chemistry teacher, though I had always had an interest in theatre. My first semester I took beginning stage management, worked as an ASM, and fell in love with it. I realized that I was much more interested in pursuing the arts and switched my major to theatre. I graduated in 2004 and stayed another year as a presidential scholar. My life direction was completely changed by the Department of Theatre. As a theatre major I was encouraged to exercise my intellectual curiosity, so after graduation I felt that I could do anything. I've expanded my horizons and no longer work in theatre, however, I use my stage management skills every day. Stage management taught me how to organize large amounts of information, to work with and communicate with all types of people, and to lead a group to a common goal. My current job title is Project Manager for Technical Product Development at Marketing G2 which is a software as a service (saas) company. The accomplishment of which I'm most proud is when I worked as a box office manager. I introduced audio-described performances at my theater to allow the visually impaired a chance to experience the art I love. I wanted to do it because one of the things I learned from the Department of Theatre is compassion for those who are different from me.
