Edward Albee’s 1975 Pulitzer-winning meditation on evolution and mortality – called a “philosophical whimsy” by New York theatre critic, Harold Clurman. A soon-to-be-retired couple on a holiday at the beach, look to their future: Nancy craves new adventure; Charlie really wants just to retire. They are joined by Sarah and Leslie, two English-speaking lizards grappling with the idea of life out of water. This humorous, provocative and engaging fantasy will linger in the heart and the mind long after the curtain falls.
