Theatre Curriculum

The study of theatre at Lehigh is a blend of imagination, collaboration, and critical inquiry. It’s where creativity meets craft—where students explore acting, directing, design, and storytelling while learning how theatre connects to culture, technology, and community.

The Department of Theatre offers a flexible Bachelor of Arts degree designed for thinkers and makers. Students can focus their studies in performance, design and technology, or theatre history and literature—or move fluidly among all three. Many double major in areas such as psychology, business, journalism, or engineering, finding that theatre deepens their confidence, creativity, and communication in every field.

Our courses balance rigorous classroom study with hands-on production work in professional-quality spaces inside the Zoellner Arts Center. Students collaborate with faculty artists and guest professionals to bring plays and new works to life, gaining experience that translates far beyond the stage.

The Bachelor of Arts in Theatre requires 48 credit hours and emphasizes both artistic excellence and intellectual curiosity.
